To enter "The Big Gig" whether contributing live performance recorded works or film simply copy and paste to Windows (TM) Wordpad the black text below and print out a hard copy. Fill in your contribution and entry details then send the form with your entry to the address on the form. Keep the rules separate- don't send them- you are required to keep a copy.
Additionally please note that in providing an entry your original copyright on your contribution remains your property and is unaffected by supplying your work to us. Your entry allows us to use your work but it will always be yours. Please read the rules carefully as they are legally binding before submitting your entry. Remember "The Big Gig" is a showcase event, NOT a competition! Thank you for your interest, we look forward to exhibiting your work.

ALL ENTRANTS PLEASE NOTE:
We now request that you also send on a separate DVD, two versions of the same trailer for your feature film entries. We need a version with full sound including music and another version with just dialogue and sound effects. These trailers will be used in preceeding programmes where appropriate whilst the non-music version will be used for "The Big Gig" event trailering on the internet. Therin we attain the right to re-edit trailer material for the purposes of promoting "The Big Gig" BUT YOUR MATERIAL IS AT ALL TIMES YOUR COPYRIGHT PROPERTY.
Please ensure that your trailers are standard cinema length of 2 min 30 sec long or less. Thank you.
If you are unable to supply a trailer- don't worry about it!

SEND YOUR FILMS WHENEVER THEY ARE READY TO SHOW!
We work on "The Big Gig" all year round planning the schedules and programming arrangements. A steady input of films all year helps us in this process. Please do not wait to the last minute before sending your films. A last minute rush of material can cause a major headache at our studio as we have to copy every movie to cut each programme DVD. The period between the 21st June to the 4th July is given mainly to printing posters and advertising material, programme tag and trailer reels and final main programme tweeking. For the purposes of this we need to be sure of what we are advertising as main features with screening times. So if you have a film ready now stike a reel and send it now!
RULES.
1. AGE GROUPS:
ADULT AMATEUR:(Non Professional) where the maker has no financial or
commercial object and produced without professional assistance.
JUNIOR AMATEUR: Appilcable to any entrant under the age of 16.
(With Release Form signed by parent or legal guardian)
*The organisers do NOT accept liability for fraudulant entries)
STUDENT: Where the maker is a Student or Young Person in full time
education from 16 up to an age limit of 25 and may have limited
professional assistance.
2. SUBJECTS: OBSERVE THE LAW- THRU THE LAWS OF SCOTLAND
& THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN.
FILMS CONTAINING PORNOGRAPHY, HAPPY SLAPPING' REAL VIOLENCE OR PHYSICAL/
PSYCHLOGICAL or RACIST ABUSE, SEXUAL ABUSE, ACTS OF PREDJUDICE, CONTENT
THAT INSITES CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES AGAINST ANY MEMBER OF SOCIETY ARE
STRICKLY PROHIBITED. SUCH MATERIAL WILL BE PASSED IMMEDIATALLY TO THE
POLICE ALONG WITH DETAILS OF THE ENTRANT. Entries may be on any lawful
subject, on any topic.
The organisers reserve the right to exclude any entry deemed to contain
scenes of violence for its own sake, explicit sex, excessive bad language
or gratuitous racism. This applies to all aspects of the production.
4. ENTRY FORMS:
No restriction on the number of entries. EACH ENTRY MUST BE ON A SEPARATE
ENTRY FORM with postal fees (where applicable) for each entry.

Legible same size photocopies in BLACK & WHITE of the ENTRY FORM are
acceptable. Hard print from this file and submit with your entry.
Entry Forms must be completed in full, signed and dated.
ENTRY FORMS, ENTRIES AND FEES MUST BE MAILED PRE-PAID TO THE ADDRESS
ON THE ENTRY FORM TO ARRIVE NO LATER THAN THE CLOSING DATE 21st JUNE 2007.
ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED THERAFTER FOR FURTHER SCREENINGS.
All Entries will be acknowledged as soon as possible after receipt via email.
Remember to include your email address.
All entries for under 16s must be accompanied by a release for with the
signature of a legal parent or guardian. The Organizers will NOT accept
liability if you fail to do so.
5. POSTAL FEES:
£ = GBP. Pounds Sterling ONLY NO COINS.
Postal Fees are as detailed on the entry form. Entries can be returned
after the Festival if postage etc. is pre-paid.
6. RUNNING DETAILS: Your films details must be correctly and clearly stated
onthe entry form. Films can be any length to a maximum of 125 minutes
(2 hours & 5 minutes). including titles.
7. COPYRIGHT CLEARANCE:—OF ALL VISUALS AND SOUND RECORDED IS THE ABSOLUTE
RESPONSIBILTY OF THE ENTRANT AND THE SIGNATORY ON THE ENTRY FORM. THE
ORGANISERSWILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILTY FOR COPYRIGHT BREACH. * PERSONS
KNOWN TO HAVE COMMITTED COPYRIGHT BREACH AT ANY TIME WITH ANY PROPERTY WILL
AUTOMATICALLY BE EXCLUDED FROM THIS EVENT.
8. PACKAGING:
Each Cassette / Disc / film must be clearly labelled with the Title and the
full Name and Address of the Entrant. All packaging must be re-useable for
return mailing.
9. SECURITY:
The event organisers will ensure reasonable care of all entries whilst in their
possession but will not be responsible for any loss or damage how so ever
caused.
10. TYPE OF MOVIE: SYNOPSIS: PHOTOGRAPHS: BIOGRAPHY: STILLS OF FILM SCENES:
Within each Category and with reference to subject specified the Festival will
classify entries “Like with Like subject for programming purposes. A short
synopsis in English on plain paper is required. Also Photographs anda biography
of the makers). PLEASE Include ACTlON stills of film scenes, etc- these are
very much wanted for advance publicity purposes.
NON-ENGLISH ENTRIES REQUIRE SUBTITLES IN ENGLISH
The interpretation of these Rules by the organisers is final, correspondence on
this aspect will not be accepted.
