A couple of years back we had an idea to record every garage site in Thurso as part of our topical work. Such locations don't feature in regular documentation. Finally this year it was decided to go for it but also just for fun and to support RED NOSE DAY 2009 it would be the task of our local Imperial Stormtrooper to do the tour of duty come rain or shine.
The tour was scheduled for SUNDAY 8th March 2009 and completed in 3 hours 38 minutes.

Why bother? Well who hasn't got an experience of a garage site. You don't need a car or a garage to have a reason to be there. Neglected by documentarians these marvelous places we all know. From childhood playing football, simply taking a short-cut or loves first kiss you're bound to have a story of your own. Garage sites are the frequent star of amateur movies (particularly sci-fi and horror). Even site 28 appears in the background of one of our films, "Seven Shades". Whilst being of little excitment garages still have their own character even though they all serve the same function. They are one of many things we refer to a 'silent history'.

So there it is, the end of an exciting journey through which dog's barked, cats gave dirty looks (no change there) and passers by could not comprehend the presence of Imperial forces in Thurso.
After the tour of duty trooper TK421 was given the rest of the day off to watch paint dry.
These relate to something else that has been arranged in support of Comic Relief 2009. This will be explained to the rest of you later.
