For our film production and cinema exhibition : www.picturehousecinema.eu
Since July 2011 we have been providing a film screening service with the Picture House community cinema while we continue renewed efforts to save our local cinema which managed to make a mess of things.   :(
The THORSAA FILM FESTIVAL website is here!
We are now looking for entries for Thorsaa Film Festival event in 2012. Click the link above to access the festival website where you will find all the information you need. Please note, we are removing festival material from this site as we begin to make much needed updates and changes.
ARCHIVE IMAGES and Words
After a very long period where we have been unable to access this site for updates, problems have now been resolved and we will start making changes over the next few weeks. This site will become a dedicated archive site with two strands of heritage. The main interest is the history and documentation of film and cinema in the north of Scotland. The second is general local heritage interests within Caithness which might include outward links. Bare with us as Thurso Picture House gets back up to speed.   :)

COPYRIGHT FOR "THE BIG GIG" (HIGHLAND, SCOTLAND) AS A LIVE MUSIC EVENT BELONGS TO DARREN MANSON AND IS DATED AT OCTOBER 2004.
Everything on this site is the property of or in the control of Cinema For Thurso Group. You will need our express permission to use any image or information from this site. We draw particular attention to "The Adventures Of Maya" (BRITISH RELEASE VERSION) which has been in our archive and copyright control since 1988. There was an interest in restoring the British version but the interested party did not recognise the copyright ownership so we refused permission to use or access the UK version. There are NO known negatives or original 35mm materials for the UK elements of this film beyond that which we retain and sole ownership lies with a private owner for whom Cinema For Thurso Group retains the print. An additional super 8mm saving-print exists in copyright 2000 and images on this website scanned from the film are copyright 1997. We DO NOT PERMIT ANY USE of the British inter-titles (including font style) or main title artwork (including font style) and handling of the print and any derivative uses of the British version are exclusive to CFT Group. Exhibition rights for the British version are exclusive to CFT Group.
Copyright for the story of "The Adventures Of Maya" (including the title and variants therof) and screenplay within the UK print are property of the Bonsels Foundation, Germany.
We are at liberty to authorise safe disposal (including destruction therof) of the British version of the film. Don ot make an offer to us unless you can come up with something real good!
We really must stop updating this site when we need our bed. The spelling in here is a bit off!
